A loan helped a vegan bakery based in Rochester, NY acquire an oven & Fridge in preparation of opening a brick-and-mortar!

Natasha's story

Growing up I took an interest in being in the kitchen from watching my Parents and Grandmother cook and bake; my Grandmother always baked cakes and sit it on the table for everyone to enjoy. As I got older and had a family of my own I always wanted to cook and bake for them as well, So I started doing the same starting from boxed packaged cake recipes to trying to take on recipes from scratch.

For years I always wanted to go to culinary school and learn how to cook and bake professional but pushed it off. About 6 Years ago me and my family decided to go vegan and it was very hard to find food and desserts in our area that we can go to and eat. I then started making things on my own to replace what we use to eat without animal products.

In 2020 I decided I wanted to see if I can find somewhere to attend school to professionally learn the in and outs of baking vegan. so when covid shut down everything I took that opportunity to attend pastry school online and after started an online home bakery. Where I can serve other people in my community that was not able to just go buy a cake or desserts from their local stores. My local community has been very supportive in my business from having product in different cafes around the city to having online orders on a day to day basis.

Opening a Brick in Mortar is in process and it is in popular demand from my customers. I have a location established and ready to be worked in just need to get the equipment to help me serve my customers.
