06_Bokk Jom Keur Bassine Group's story

This group is composed of 18 women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual help. They live in the same village and have taken advantage of the opportunity to join the bank villageois once it was launched in their village in November 2019. They mainly raise poultry and work as vendors.

Ms. Yacine (the one standing on the far right raising her hand in the photo) is the group representative. She is 47 years old. She is married and has seven children, including two daughters. Yacine raises poultry. She has worked in this line of business for a number of years and has plenty of experience.

With this new loan she plans to buy cases of chicks, poultry feed and vaccines in order to raise the chicks for 45 days and later resell.

With her revenues Yacine plans to grow her business, make repayments to the community savings group, provide for her own needs and the needs of her children.

In this group: Yacine, Sokhna, Khady, Ndiaya, Coumba, Nar, Rama, Faty Mor, Mareme, Fama, Khady Saliou, Bity, Marie, Aicha, Khoudia, Aissata, Mbayang, Astou
