A loan helped to buy more oil, palm oil, charcoal, vita, salt, onion and other items to sell.

Cecelia's story

Cecelia is 40 years old. She is a married mother with four children who live at home and are presently in school. Cecelia is a hardworking business woman who sells oil, palm oil, charcoal, vita, salt, onion and other items. She has managed her sales business for 15 years. She learned how to sell from her mother and started her business with earnings from her father. She uses a car or bike to transport supplies at her business site. She sells Monday through Saturday and faces no problems with her sales.

Cecelia approached Brac Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to buy more oil, palm oil, charcoal, vita, salt, onion and other items to sell to her good clients. She wants to continue her children's education, travel and build houses in the future. Cecelia wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
