A loan helped to buy dry food to sell.

Diar's story

Meet Diar, a refugee mother to 4 children of whom 3 are in school. They stay with her in Moyo which is in the West Nile region of Uganda.

Life may have been very hard for her, but she has chosen not to give up, but instead work hard and be a better person. She is a farmer who grows millet, sorghum, cassava and beans.

Besides this, she also has a small home stall that sells mainly home consumption goods. She has many customers, but her stock is very limited.

She would like to add more stock so that she is able to supply the needs of her customers. With that in place, she will be able to pay school fees, boost her sales and offer her family a better life.

She is very glad for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva has given her to be a better person.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
