A loan helped the Circle of Life Adult Day Care begin to be fully operational.

Laquanda's story

My name is LaQuanda. I am the owner of Circle of Life Adult Day Care. I work with the elderly and disabled population. I grew up in a household with my mom and maternal grandparents. Spending time and caring for my grandparents delighted me. I loved to see the smile on their faces when we would watch our favorite T.V. shows, going out to eat or riding with my grandfather in his 18wheeler truck. I was inspired by the enjoyment of company I brought to my grandparents.

Upon deciding what college to attend and what major to choose from, I attended Mississippi Valley State University and received my bachelors and master's in social work, I knew that field would lead me to the community where I can provide enjoyment to other elderly and disabled adults. After several years of working with the elderly & disabled population, I knew that I wanted to work more on a personal level with that population. In 2020, I started from scratch and started Circle of Life Adult Day Care, LLC, with no equipment and out of my home. I provided free adult day services to individuals in my community. I am very proud of the service and time that I have provided.

This loan is special because:
