Suma Sartawi Group's story

The communal bank, "Suma Sartawi," is starting their first cycle in the Centro Focal de German Busch. It is composed of eight members, one man and seven women. The director's board consists of the president, Nilda, the treasurer, Virginia, and the secretary, Jaqueline. The women's businesses are related to sales, production and service, such as, the sale of clothes, locksmith (the elaboration of kitchens), the sale of fruit, "salchipapas" (french fries with sausage), cooking workshops, artisan blankets of alpaca wool, woven items, and the sale of food.

Nilda is the president of this communal bank "Suma Sartawi." She is married and has four children. She is a professor and also an artisan, who makes a variety of art work: cloth paintings, macrame, weaves, and embroidery. In order to keep her clients satisfied, Nilda indicates that every once in awhile, she takes classes and also teaches classes to other interested women. She displays her work at fairs and educational and school expos. While this is her first credit cycle with Pro Mujer, she comments that this is not her first time applying for a loan. She also states, with great satisfaction, that the promoters of Pro Mujer arrived right on time, since she needed a credit to move her business along. When asked what she likes most about Pro Mujer, she replies that she likes the credit and the possibility of growing with the group. The credit that she receives would be used towards the purchase of artisan materials.

In this group: Nilda, Virginia, José Ariel, Soledad, Antonia, Remedios, Jaqueline Margott, Inosencia
