Eseza's story

Eseza is 39 years old and lives in the town of Kayunga in the Kayunga region of Uganda. She is married and has four children, three of them currently in school. For the past three years Eseza has been working hard managing her shoe sales business.

To help expand her business, Eseza has requested a loan of 400,000 UGX through Kiva's field partner BRAC Uganda to buy more shoes to sell. This will help her to generate greater profits and provide basic needs for her family, including paying school fees for her children. She hopes that in the future she will be able to open a retail shop.

Eseza is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program, which primarily serves small group members like she who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
