A loan helped our small scale, mobile coffee business expand into a brick and mortar cafe.

Kelly's story

We’re Kelly and Matt, the owners of Lucky Shot Coffee Company. Our partnership grew out of a love for adventure, exploration and the search for inspiring places. We have always wanted to create a space of our own to share our passions with others. Our love for great coffee led us to start Lucky Shot Coffee Company in 2021, starting by brewing and bottling cold brew coffee, then building an espresso cart to serve off of. Last year, we renovated a 1976 Scamp camper into an eye-catching vintage coffee shop on wheels which we use to serve our community as well as large events. Our mission is to elevate to specialty coffee scene in Delaware with an emphasis on community engagement and locally sourced goods. We believe that small businesses should support and promote one another and our mission is to do our part in exemplifying that. Last fall, we partnered with the neighborhood development organization West Side Grows Together to sponsor the “Local Is Better” craft and vintage market, an expansion of the neighborhood’s weekly farmers market. About 2000 people came out to support over 50 local artists and vendors, hear live music and participate in fun fall activities. This was an increase in normal market traffic by about tenfold! We will be striving to continue the “Local Is Better” series as we feel it greatly benefits local artists as well as the community. This winter we organized a clothing drive to benefit homeless patients of St. Francis Hospital, utilizing two other small businesses in Wilmington as drop off locations. We believe in collaboration and giving back to our community.
