A loan helped buy veils and fabrics in bulk to meet her customer demand.

Samsia's story

Samsia is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother and siblings in the Yendi District in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan she bought additional veils and fabrics to sell. She used the profits she earned to continue to grow her business.

Samsia is now requesting another loan to buy veils and fabrics in bulk to meet her customers' demand. She plans to use the profits she earns to support her education.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering two-and-a-half hours per week as a Camfed Learner Guide, facilitating classes from Camfed’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build their self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
