A loan helped to buy cloth fabric.

Doris's story

Doris is a refugee mother to 5 children who are school going and stay with her in Yumbe. As any mother, she has to work extremely hard to make sure her family is taken care of.

She grows millet, cassava, beans and groundnuts. Besides this, she also has a sewing machine that makes different kinds of clothes.

She has very many customers who bring clothes for repair, and others also bring different kinds of designs for her to sew for them.

Doris would like to make different kinds of fabrics like uniforms, among others, and this will enable her to pay school fees. Her desire is to start teaching her fellow women how to sew.

She is very glad for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her, as she now has a better life.
