A loan helped to buy a new car and land for her mining business.

Alphonsine's story

Alphonsine is a passionate businesswoman living near the Kiziba refugee camp. She runs a transportation and mining business. She fully repaid all of her previous loans on Kiva. The first loan of RWF 20,000,000 helped her purchase a rental truck to add to her fleet of vehicles, and the second loan of RWF 40,000,000 enabled her to increase her working capital and buy new transport cars.

Alphonsine was able to grow her rental and mining business to earn more income. The company started with one car and has expanded since then. It currently has five cars that assist in the transport of district employees and a truck used in the transportation of commodities and mining products.

Currently, the company has secured two new work contracts with two districts to extract and sell stones for construction. Alphonsine created five more employment opportunities for others. The company employs five Congolese refugees and eight fellow Rwandans.

Alphonsine requested another loan to buy a new car and land for her mining business. This loan will continue to grow her business and create more employment opportunities for others.

This loan is special because:

It offers a full package of support for Rwanda's promising entrepreneurs.
