A loan helped to purchase a variety of soft drinks in large quantities to meet customer demand.

Sakina's story

Sakina is 25 years old and lives with her parents in the Bawku West district in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her grocery business. She used the profits she earned to support her needs.

Sakina requested another loan, which she will use to purchase a variety of soft drinks in large quantities to meet her customers' demands. She plans to use the profits she earns to reinvest into her business. She will repay the social interest on her second loan by volunteering two-and-a-half hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, leading life skills sessions, covering active citizenship and personal confidence with students at her local secondary school.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
