A loan helped a member to buy fruit to resell.

01_Bayouf Pout Group's story

This banc villageois, established in July 1996, houses this group made up of women who live in the same neighbourhood. They share good relations of neighbourliness and solidarity. Their main activity is trade. They have repaid several loans without difficulty.

Penda, 57 years old, is the representative. She is standing at the left in the photo with her hand raised. She is a widow and mother of six children, including two boys, all of whom attend school. Penda sells fruits at the market. She stocks up from wholesalers in the orchards and resells retail. She has a good experience of more than 20 years in the trade sector.

With her loan, she plans to purchase half a truckload of watermelon, 50 kg of melons, and two sacks of oranges that she will resell. She has no great difficulty in selling her goods.

Her profits allow her to manage her daily expenses and to increase her savings in the banc villageois.

In this group: Aïssitou, Aïssatou, Fatou, Penda, Awa Rone, Diama
