Jahaira Janet's story

Jahaira Janet and her family live in Portoviejo. It suffered an earthquake on April 16, 2016. It is a city rich in the production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruits for internal consumption.

Jahaira lives in a high part of the city which is very touristy. She takes advantage of this by selling fish ceviche and colas. She also rents pool tables. Her husband helps her on Saturdays and Sundays when she sells the most.

Jahaira also sells Yanbal catalog products, such as beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women's accessories. She works going house-to-house three times a week. She leaves her products on credit with her customers and collects payments weekly. This loan is to buy fish, limes, disposable containers, beers, waters, eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polish, creams and shampoo.
