A loan helped to buy 5 sacks of pearl millet, 3 bags of sugar, and flavorings and to save money for taking care of her children.

Fanta's story

Fanta, a mother of two children, has been a street vendor of juice drinks (bissap and zomkom) for six years in an outlying district of the capital.

She is on her fifth loan cycle with the micro-finance institution YIKRI. She paid back her Kiva loan without a problem and is applying for a new loan to purchase five sacks of pearl millet, three bags of sugar, and some flavoring to make her juice drinks to sell to her customers.

She plans to use the earnings to reinvest in her business and to save money for taking care of her children. She urges everybody to guard against the COVID-19 virus.
