Awa's Group's story

This group is composed of sixteen women. All of them live in the same town. They keep up a good rapport and are active for the most part in small-scale commerce and in farming.

Ms. Ndeye, standing at the right in the photo, is the group’s representative. She is 52 years old, a widow, and the mother of 10 children, including five sons. She operates a small-scale business selling vegetables. She purchases them from neighboring towns and is developing her business in her village.

With this loan, she is going to purchase carrots, cassava, cabbages, turnips, bell peppers, onions, spices, and eggplants, both bitter and sweet ones. She has capitalized on some experience in this domain. With the earnings, she plans to meet family needs and to look after growing her business.
