A loan helped to set up a kava business.

Siteri's story

Kava is widely consumed in Fiji and provides village women with a source of income. By selling kava powder, Siteri sees a solution to her struggles in bringing up four children. She seeks a loan to get her venture started. Although her husband has a stable income, it is not enough to support the whole family. With the extra cash from her new venture, Siteri will be able to meet her living expenses and her children’s school fees.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
