A loan helped purchase variety of polythene bags in large quantities to increase her profits.

Zuwera's story

Zuwera is a 35-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her immediate family in the Kumbungu district in Ghana.

With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her grocery business and started selling polythene plastic bags. She used the profits she earned to reinvest in her business. Zuwera is now requesting another loan to purchase a variety of polythene bags in large quantities to increase her profit margins. She plans to use the profits she earns to support her family's needs.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering two-and-a-half hours per week as a Camfed Association Employer, empowering members of the Camfed Association by employing them and offering them career guidance.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
