Fe Y Alegria Pasmata Group's story

Petrona is 64 years old. She is married and has three children, none of whom are dependent anymore. Petrona is known in her community for being a trustworthy, hard-working and honest person who wants to work in order to improve her standard of living.

Petrona earns her living making "nacatamales" (stuffed banana leaves), bread and cottage cheese. With her husband's help, the business has been prospering.

Petrona is requesting a Kiva loan from Fundenuse so she can purchase the raw materials for making her products. Petrona is part of the “Fe y alegria Pasmata” communal bank along with Sonia, who has a small grocery; and with Estela, who makes and sells fried foods.
