A loan helped to buy farm inputs, such as seed and fertilizer, to improve the quality of her crop produce.

Salome's story

Juhudi Kilimo would like to celebrate Salome, a 49-year-old mother with 6 children who are in school. She is a go-getter. Salome is the true definition of a hard worker and a happy mother. She grows maize, raises cattle, and engages in dairy farming. Salome also grows maize for personal consumption and to sell. These commercial activities place her in a better position to engage in other agricultural businesses.

Salome dreams that, through farming, she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all her children successfully complete their studies. She is visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps on progressing.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in her region of Kenya. The Juhudi Kilimo staff members are keen to ensure that hardworking single mothers like Salome benefit from loans that enable them to purchase farming inputs. Salome is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs, such as seed and fertilizer. This loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. With this intervention, she will be able to improve the quality of her farm products and attract more buyers.

Kindly support Salome during this planting season and make her life brighter.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
