Atumane's story

Atumane is a 44-year-old Mozambican. He lives in Nacala Porto City, Mozambique with his family.

Atumane is a hardworking and enterprising man. He buys agricultural surpluses, especially cashew nuts, from small farmers to resell to their customers who buy to export to other countries. In addition to cashew nuts, he also buys dried cassava and sells it in his community. Seeing that his customers are increasing every day, he needs to increase the volume of cashew nuts and cassava in order to better meet the growing demand for these products.

Atumane is asking for his first Kiva loan to buy more agricultural surpluses, especially cashews, to sell to his customers. In the future, he dreams of having his own cashew nut processing and packaging unit.
