Machozi is a client with the microfinance institution Hekima and represents the groupe villageoise Deborah 1. She is 47 years old, married and has eight children, five of whom are enrolled in school. Her husband is a tailor.
She established her business selling groceries 5 years ago using start-up funds she received from her husband. Later she got involved with the Hekima program to support her business, which has been developing progressively. With this new loan, she will stock up on cassava, oil, charcoal and groceries, which will strengthen her initial capital. The challenge of her business is linked to the heightened exchange rate for dollars.
She would like her children to continue their studies and wants to develop her business. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support shown to business owners without access to traditional banking facilities in the context of the global crisis caused by covid-19.
