A loan helped to buy more stock for the business.

Danny's story

Danny is a male client of a Microfinance institution in Zambia and has a micro loan facility. He is 46 years, married, and supports a family of 8 including 6 children who are all in school.
Danny runs a Grocery store. He started this business 8 years ago with start-up funds of ZMW 5,000. The startup capital was from the savings from petty trade he used to do prior to opening the grocery store.
He used the first loan which was a ZMW 50,000 to invest in his current business and was able to buy a car afterwards which he now uses to order items for his shop. His business currently employs three youths. This loan will be used for buying more stock for the business.

This loan is special because:

It empowers both farming and non-farming households in rural Zambia.
