Alphonsine, 50, is the mother of three children aged three to five years old. Her husband is a businessman. For the past nine years, she has owned a grocery store.
Alphonsine is the leader of the group called Duhahirane Zumuka Sub Grp A, which in English means “let's support each other to grow businesses.” Group members sell different items and own a variety of businesses.
Alphonsine will use her loan to buy more sugar, cooking oil, soft drinks and flour to sell in her community and meet customer demands. With the profits from her sales, she hopes to be able to buy a piece of land.
