Rehana (holding the blue book) is a resident of Kamoki, a small industrial city known for its rice and other agricultural crops. She owns a single-room brick house where she has lived with her family for over 14 years. She is 38 years old and makes thread rolls; she gets thread from old worn sweaters and sells it to thread sellers for a profit. She does this work to share the financial burden with her husband. Her husband, M. L., operates a printing shop in the market where he prints newspapers, visiting and marriage cards on order. He has been doing this for over five years. Rehana has given birth to six children: three sons and three daughters, all except the youngest one in school. She and her husband work very hard to pay their children's school fees. They want them to complete their education and have successful lives.
Rehana has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her husband’s printing business. With the loan, he will buy printer toner, paper and other supplies in bulk to fulfill larger orders on time and generate more profit. Rehana is a new loan user of Asasah and this is her first loan application. She hopes it will be a profitable experience for her family.
