Bemi's story

Bemi is a 51-year-old married woman from the town of Dulag. She has no children. She sells and prepares "kakanin", which is derived from two Tagalog words: “kain” (to eat) and “kanin” (rice). It's an umbrella term for sweets made of glutinous rice and coconut milk. Moreover, she also sells fruits and vegetables as supplemental income.

She has been in the food-vending business for five years.

To cope with demand, she has decided to request a loan. She will use it to purchase additional ingredients, such as rice flour and sugar, and invest in more fruits and vegetables.

In this way, she can attract potential customers and boost her income as well.

Bemi would like to expand her business to be successful in order to have a stable source of income.
