A loan helped a member to purchase clothing merchandise so that her customers have more buying options and she will improve her income.

Unidos Con Tarapoto Group's story

The communal bank "Unidos con Tarapoto" is a group formed by 9 members who are in their first loan cycle. Because of the pandemic, only the three representatives of the group who form the board of directors appear in the photograph. They are the president, treasurer, and secretary.

Gladys, age 63, has four daughters, women who are her inspiration. She lives with her partner and works as a cleaning person.

She considers herself a responsible and enterprising woman who motivates people to do good things. For six years, she has worked in hotel laundry service. It is for this reason that her greatest challenge is to open her business in a formal manner.

In addition, her great dream is to have her own clothing store. Besides this business, her other source of income is the economic support from her daughters.

She will use the Kiva loan for the purchase of clothing merchandise so that her customers will have more buying options and she will improve her income, and with her extra earnings, she will save and continue investing.

In this group: Flor Isabel, Jimmy, Luz Clarita, Pilar, Claribe, Jhon Erick, Jalia, Estefani, Gladis
