A loan helped a member to buy sheep and fodder.

06_Nguidile Group's story

This group is composed of 6 women sharing strong ties of solidarity and mutual aid. They live in the same neighborhood and jumped at the chance to join the 'banc villageois' when it was set up in town in March 2008. Their main work is in small-scale commerce.

Ms. Marème (standing at the far right in the photo with a hand raised) is the group's representative. She is 59, married, and the mother of six children, including three girls. She raises livestock and enjoys experience in this business for having done it for several years.

With this new loan, she intends to purchase sheep and the fodder to raise them for a few month and then to resell them. With the profits, she plans to develop her business, boost her savings, and help her children with day-to-day expenses.

In this group: Marème, Ndeye, Khoudia, Faty, Fatou, Rokhaya
