A loan helped a member to stock up on Lacoste and pants to sell.

Tupiganishe Group's story

Ms. Hortance is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and presides over the village group “TUPIGANISHE”; she is married, 44 years old, and the mother of five children, all provided with schooling. Her partner is a taxi driver.

She is a clothing vendor. She started this enterprise in 2007 years ago with startup funding from her husband. Later on, she got involved in the Hekima program to support her enterprise. She has since been working progressively in it.

With this new loan, she will stock up on Lacoste and some pants. And this will bolster her initial capital. The challenge in her business has to do with market competition.

She would like to develop her enterprise and for her children to continue their studies. So she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners lacking cash during this global crisis linked to COVID-19. The photo shows only the group leader because of COVID-19, so as to respect social distancing measures.

In this group: Yvette, Hortance, Nadine, Barholere, Balyahamwabo, Nsimire
