Growing up, I witnessed two generations of small businesses owners, as my maternal and paternal grandparents and mother were small business owners.
I saw the direct impact they were able to make on the livelihood of not only their own families but also those in our community. It has been my desire to follow in their footsteps and start my own path into entrepreneurship.
Growing up in an urban city there were not many entrepreneurs of color presented to me as role models. Furthermore, as I branched out into my journey of ownership I noticed a lack of community support and access to resources for local black business owners so I made a conscious effort to ensure I was building a business that could not only motivate and inspire people to follow their dreams without knocking others down but also be transparent about my path to entrepreneurship as a guide to help others who are following the same path.
It is my plan to grow my business to a larger scale so that I can incorporate mentorship and job opportunities for students of color in my community so that I can pass down the tools of entrepreneurship that my family taught me to a new generation.

My name is Pablo J. I am the owner and founder of We don't hate we just hustle. We Don’t Hate We Just Hustle is one of the fastest-growing urban apparel brands.
At WDHWJH we promote positivity through fashion. Our motto calls out to any person who is pursuing their dreams and not knocking down others in the process.
Many celebrities like activist Angela Davis and the late rapper DMX have already supported our brand.
WDHWJH started as a roadside business selling a single T-shirt on the street corner. We have since expanded to sell over 50 different products through our website, www.wedonthatewejusthustle.com.
In the summer of 2021, we opened our first mobile clothing store, the first urban mobile clothing store in the city of Rochester. The WDHWJH mobile bus allows us to access festivals and pop-up shops and travel to new cities with our merchandise.
What is the purpose of this loan?
I am applying for this loan as I need to make some critical repairs (new air conditioning system, stairs, and updates to ensure COVID safety measures are in place) to my mobile bus to prepare it for the upcoming festival season.
This loan will also help me to upgrade my POS system to allow for a faster shopping experience on the bus.
In 2021 my business was a front-page feature story for the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and I also received the belief award from the previous mayor due to my business efforts. I would like to mirror this success and expand into new markets. This loan can help me pay for registration fees for festivals in bigger cities as well as invest in marketing coaching for my business.

"N/A" means the Lending Partner disburses loans to borrowers in USD so their loans are not subject to any currency fluctuation.

Our partners collect interest from borrowers because there are many operational expenses associated with microfinance in developing markets, especially in rural areas. Many of Kiva's Lending Partners also provide additional services alongside their loan products such as business training, financial literacy lessons, or health services.
Kiva will not partner with an organization that charges unreasonable interest rates, and we require Lending Partners to fully disclose their rates. In addition, we only partner with microfinance institutions and organizations that have a social mission to serve the poor, unbanked, and underserved.
