A loan helped to buy dry food to sell.

Nasura's story

Nasura is 30 years old, a refugee, and a mother to three, two who are going to school. Having survived the war in Sudan and escaped to Uganda, she says its unbelievable to be alive.

She grows groundnuts, simsim, millet, and maize. The season has been so bad that most of the crops dried hence she has not able to get more from the garden.

Through this business, Nasura provides some needs to her family though she is not able to meet all of them. The demand for food is very high in their community.

The clientele is there and Nasura would like to buy dry food stuffs like beans, posho, and rice. With this in place, she will be able to pay school fees, provide medical care, and have a better life.

She is very grateful for the support from Visionfund and Kiva.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
