A loan helped to buy more poultry and pesticides.

Jaliett's story

Jaliett is a 28-year-old refugee mother of three children who are all in school. She lives in the West Nile region of Uganda in Yumbe District.

Jaliett is a farmer who grows crops like cassava, maize, ground nuts and beans. She also rears chickens. Through this, she tries to provide for her family, though she is not able to meet all of their basic needs.

Her crops have been destroyed by pests so she would like to buy some pesticides and also add more chickens. The demand for eggs has gone up and she believes that with the addition of extra chickens, she will be able to pay school fees and have a better harvest. She dreams of buying a motorcycle to help boost her income also.

Jaliett is very grateful for the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her to be able to achieve this.
