A loan helped to buy more building materials to sell.

Miatta's story

Meet Miatta, who is 44 years old. She is a widow with 10 children, 5 of whom are still in school. Miatta is a strong businesswoman who sells building materials. She established her business 25 years ago in order to support her children. Miatta learned how to sell by herself. She uses a car or bike to transport supplies to her business site. She likes her business because it helps to support her family.

To continue her business, Miatta applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, Kiva's field partner. The loan will be used to buy more building materials to sell to her good clients. Her dream for the future is to build a house. She wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
