A loan helped a repeat borrower and established entrepreneur launch their manufacturing facility.

Mj's story

Born and raised on the Island of Puerto Rico, my partner Walter and I, decided to venture into the scrumptious world of ice cream making. Although neither have formal education in cooking, we consider ourselves innate chefs, who delight our friends and guests with innovative cooking creations, especially desserts. Both being creative spirits sharing the sense of adventure and self-betterment we decided to take it on. I have professional experience in the film industry and Walter who has devoted his professional life to the design and conceptualization of ideas believed that it was enough to get us started. After joining the Food Truck Movement we opened our brick & mortar in the Capital of the island, San Juan back in 2018. We are now moving forward into establishing our manufacturing facility and distribution center.

Like many things in life, the ice-cream business experience has been a challenge on many fronts. First off, we wanted to give the community a one-of-a-kind experience. Creating new recipes that they could only find in our shop whole creating memorable moments with their loved ones. Every day is an opportunity to create great things. We have found our calling and we are ready for more. The Cool Hope Food Truck prove to be a true success, the San Juan Creamery prove to be a success, and now we are ready to open our manufacturing facility expanding our offer with an even bigger community while incorporating distribution logistics to make sure we get to the homes of those who love our treats.
