Tom's story

I farm with my husband Tommy and we created Ocean Fog Farm. As a young girl, I grew up helping my Grandfather garden flowers and vegetables in his backyard. My grandfather would make a small patch for me to grow wildflowers that I would start from seed. This grew my passion to grow and arrange flowers as a small girl. When Tommy and I met, we made large gardens with fresh vegetables and flowers. When we found our small town of Eastport and our house, our passion to farm came alive. On a snowy February night, we both decided to create Ocean Fog Farm. Our name is based upon how the fog from the bay comes onto our property.

When we began to make arrangements and sell them in the local General Store, our farm began to grow. We have started our farm from scratch and have continued to carefully reinvest in our farm, finding best practices and expanding our education by taking courses with Cornell Cooperative. We are proud to continue the history of agriculture in Eastport, to support other local growers and rescue animals such as our dogs and chickens. We have rescued over 30 chickens who are organically fed and free-range. We have 4 dogs, 3 which have been rescued who have taken on the responsibility to keep our chickens safe. We are both grateful for each season that brings us fresh eggs, beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables.
