Jahaira Janet and her family live in Portoviejo. It is a city that was struck by an earthquake on April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is an important producer of greens, vegetables and tropical fruit for the internal market.
Jahaira Janet has some pool tables at her house that they rent out. She makes the most of them selling drinks and fish ceviche on Saturday and Sunday. Her husband helps her serve the public. She also sells products from Yanbal catalogues (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and women's accessories). She works three days a week, two to three hours per day, leaving her product on credit and collecting every eight days. The beginning of the lock-down left her without work for the various restrictions that stopped her customers from coming. But she is currently working following health protocol.
This loan will be used to buy perfumes, creams, deodorant, jewellery, fish, plantain chips, disposable containers, soft drinks, etc. Her dream is to make more sales and for her family to be healthy.
