A loan helped a member to buy 10 sheets and one bale of second-hand clothing.

Tujenge Group's story

Josephine is a client of the micro-finance institution Hekima and president of the village group called "Tujenge." She is a widow, 48 years old, and a mother of four children, of whom two are in school.

Josephine sells second-hand clothing. She started this business 10 years ago with start-up funds she received from her husband. Later, she joined Hekima to support her business, which continues to develop. With this new loan, she is going to buy 10 sheets and one bale of second-hand clothing, which will strenghten her initial capital. A challenge to her business relates to a lack of customers and unpaid debts.

Josephone would like to see her children continue in school and to feed her family. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and their partners for their support to business owners who lack access to banking services in the context of the global COVID-19 crisis. The photo includes only the leader of the group in order to respect social distancing measures in place due to COVID-19.

In this group: Josephine, Agnes, Jacques, Jules, Rebecca, Irangare, Bernadette, Djasumini, Munihire, Nabintu, Yvette, Maisha, Marie, Furaha, Bulonza, Aline, Maria, Abigael, Jeanne, Claudine, Gemima, Gloria
