Patuma's story

Patuma is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her parents and husband in the Mangochi district in Malawi. She runs a business selling groceries.

She is requesting a Kiva loan to purchase more groceries to meet customer demand. She plans to use the profit she earns to support needy children. She will repay the 'social interest' on her loan by volunteering two hours per week facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school to help build their self-esteem and motivate them to remain in school.
