A loan helped to buy farming inputs to optimize her production.

Safina's story

Safina, age 48, is a single mother of three children. She does not waste her opportunities in life. Safina is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has been farming for many years. Through farming, she has made major accomplishments in her life.

With this loan, Safina wants to buy farming inputs to optimize her production.

Unlike most microfinance institutions in Kenya that have imposed very complicated procedures for fund acquisition, thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for smallholder farmers easy and convenient.

Safina hopes that the Kiva lenders will respond positively to her loan request.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
