Art's story

I was born in Mexico but when I was 18 years old I decided to move to the United States. I went to California for work before moving to Illinois and eventually settling in Indiana. Before starting Art’s Skillet, I worked at various jobs–from washing dishes, cooking, and managing restaurants –that taught me about the food industry. Out of all the jobs, my favorite was cooking! I loved being able to combine different spices and flavors to create different sauces and recipes. After working for many years, I decided I wanted to start my own restaurant: Art’s Skillet. We now have two locations on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. I am passionate about serving my community so I try to offer great food for a good price.
