A loan helped to access quality farm inputs and services.

Bitrus's story

Bitrus is a 40-year-old farmer that lives with her family in an ordinary mud house in a small village in Kaduna State. In her community, farming is the primary occupation and, like many diligent smallholders, Bitrus dreams of expanding her farm business. Due to a lack of access to quality inputs, it has become difficult for farmers like Bitrus to achieve high yields so as to make a higher income. Luckily, as a Babban Gona member and because of this loan, Bitrus will be provided with higher-yielding seeds that are locally adapted and widely accepted in her local community. She will also have the recommended pesticides and fertilizers based on the results of her field assessment. This will enable Bitrus to optimize her yield, thereby attaining yields of up to 2 times the national average in Nigeria. She is looking forward to a bountiful harvest with lenders' support to her farming business.

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers and helps them increase yields.
