My name is Pascale. I am 28 years old and a first generation Haitian American. My parents brought me from Port Au Prince, Haiti to West Palm Beach, Florida at the age of 14, for a better life and education.
From a very young age, I have always had a passion to help women feel confident and look beautiful. As a teenager, I discovered I had this incredible gift of styling hair, which lead to me making handmade custom wigs. I later enrolled into cosmetology school to further my education in hopes of opening a hair salon. After obtaining my cosmetology certificate and state license, I quickly learned that it takes a lot more than just obtaining a license to open a business. It takes a village and that is where you come in! Being the first generation entrepreneur in my family made it even harder because I had no guidance, I have invested thousands of my own savings and countless hours into this business, to make this dream come true. I can only get so far on my own and I now I am asking for your help to make this longtime dream come true.

Luxe Hair was founded because I refused to not pursue my calling and purpose, not what others want for me. My parents wanted me to be a dentist, but that was not a career I was passionate about. Halfway through college, I realized that I would be settling and that would hunt me for the rest of my life. While I was in college, I was as a hair salon assistant, which gave me the opportunity to build my own clientele. I then decided to switch my major from Dentistry to Cosmetology, and that is when Luxe Hair was born. The service that I provide is custom wigs, hair extensions, and color. This also creates an opportunity for me to share my gift with the world, so I have an online store where I sell these products as well. I currently service my clients at a salon, where I rent a booth, but I am quickly growing out of that space.
What is the purpose of this loan?
I am applying for this loan because I need help to expand Luxe Hair. This loan will impact Luxe Hair in a major way, life-changing to say. It will allow me to buy inventory to keep up with demand, and buy equipment to store all the inventory. Additionally, to hire a marketing team to handle our social media pages, SEO, and ads. This will also help me pay our CPA for filling our quarterly tax filings. My hope is to have six months of working capital to sustain Luxe Hair while I work to obtain business credit to eventually open a storefront and salon.

We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.

"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
