A loan helped to buy farm inputs such as fertilizer to help improve her tea farming.

Janeth's story

A large percentage of Kenyans are involved in agricultural production, either directly or indirectly. Almost all Kenyans are farmers, and a large percentage of the food that people eat comes from people who sell in the rural marketplace.

Janeth, pictured on her tea farm, is a 31-year-old mom of three. She is a mixed farmer based in the Kericho area of Kenya. She is a proud mom of school-going children whom she truly loves and greatly adores. Janeth describes her upbringing as challenging, so she is doing everything in her power to provide a good foundation for her children and help secure their future.

Janeth has always had an affinity for tea farming. She is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as fertilizers to help improve her tea farm. With this loan, she will be able to purchase high-quality fertilizer that she will use to greatly improve her tea crop production. Modern farming requires the use of modern techniques, and high-quality fertilizers will ensure a bumper harvest and increased profits.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
