A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve maize harvests.

Florence's Group's story

Florence, pictured above, is often described as an extremely friendly person. She is 46 years old and has 5 children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 17 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Florence is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund. This means she will be able to get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Florence says that she is happy to have made that decision because since she first joined in 2017, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her day-to-day life significantly.

Her group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 9 acres. Florence will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

In this group: Florence, Lilian, Beatrice , Daniel, Resila, Cornel , Henry, Fautine, Tobias, Karoli, Fanis , Stephien, Oliver, Florence, Keneth, Nancy, Joseph
