Kigaaga Biruga Omututu, Ibanda Group's story

Different genres of agricultural activities have made many Ugandan families have an improved lease on life. This story is connected to one K. Monica from Kigaaga, Ibanda district.

This married lady has subsisted on the profits from selling a variety of agricultural products, for the last ten years specializing in growing bananas. Though adverse weather conditions have constantly affected her plantations, she has managed to consolidate the gains she has made. As a result, her family of four children has enjoyed the benefits; principally, her children all now attend good institutions of learning.

In a month, Monica reveals that she makes close to or even more than $90 out of selling her agricultural produce. She is very upbeat that with this loan she will be in a position to improve on the mulching and gardening aspects of her farm, and also to increase her stock of animals on the farm which will help her increase the produce and sales revenue.

Monica is the lady seated on the far left with her hand raised, and the others with hands raised are the secretary, treasurer and vice chairman for the group.
