Sofia Mishell's story

Sofia Mishell and her family live in Rocafuerte. It is well-known both inside the country and abroad for it's traditional artisan candy made from recipes passed down from generation to generation and for growing rice.

Together with her family Sofia Mishell earns a living selling rice by the quintal, half quintal and by the pound, coconuts, oranges, mandarins, etc. They also do deliveries to homes. They leave the goods on credit and collect weekly. The beginning of the health crisis was very hard for her as she could not sell. But now things are picking up again little by little so she can continue to generate income.
