A loan helped to buy farm inputs and improve her horticultural business, which has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gladys's story

Gladys (pictured carrying her last-born) is a 33 year old mother of four children. She is living in Eldoret, a town that was significantly struck by the 2007–2008 Kenyan crisis, when violence occurred in Kenya. She is a resourceful woman who has farmed for the past ten years.

Gladys is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs and improve her horticultural business, which has been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centers, Juhudi Kilimo (a Kiva field partner) has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans. Please support Gladys to keep her dreams of future prosperity alive!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
