A loan helped to buy baby animals.

Sofia's story

Sofia is 23 years old, and she has two children. She lives in the Rayanniyoc rural community in the Taray district, Calca province, Cusco department. Most of the inhabitants work in agriculture and livestock.

She has a small business, which consists of selling livestock like cows and bull. She also raises small animals like guinea pigs and hens. She buys the baby animals in the agricultural fairs in the cities of Combapata and Inquilpata. Then, she feeds them to fatten them in order to later sell them at the same fairs.

In the beginning, it was a little difficult for her because she did not have much capital. Then the opportunity presented itself to belong to the Arariwa communal bank. It offered support with loans, and many of the members could start and improve their businesses.

She has participated in the Villa Rayanniyoc Communal Bank for several years. Her colleagues have faith in her responsibility and the punctuality of her payments. She needs a loan to increase the capital in her business. She wishes to buy more baby animals.
