A loan helped a member to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Josephine's Group's story

Josephine, pictured above, has been a farmer for more than twenty years, and is now proud to represent her group of four farmers from Lugari District. She is forty-eight years old and married with four children.

Josephine likes to think of herself as a very trustworthy person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2015 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to help more farmers. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to consistently feed her family. Josephine plans to use the profits from this coming season to send her children to school.

In total, Josephine’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 2.5 acres of land.
