A loan helped a member to purchase more retail items such as sugar, soap, salt, etc.

Bakadde Tusuubira Development Group, Kayunga's story

He is a past master with a decade’s experience in lucrative general merchandise retail businesses in both Kirindi and Kyampisi. As is the case with any competitive business environment, 53 year old M. Clement cites his relatively low prices as his winning stock in trade. In a week, Clement says he makes profits to the tune of 50,000.

This married father of eight children has evidently worked hard to take firm root as seen in the array of goods he has on offer in contrast to what his competitors have. His two flourishing retail outlets have boosted his family’s welfare and his children, too, have been benefactors.

Clement’s future plans are to establish more retail shops within his district. And the first step towards achieving this, he says, is with the acquisition of this loan. With this loan, he says he wants to buy more retail items in high favor such as salt, sugar, soap, candles, bread, milk, etc.
